There is no defence against Ostrich Attack
Ostrich Attack Press is a small independent Calgary-based book publisher. We specialize in digital and small run printing as well as a series of short-story anthologies for those new to authorship, looking to get their feet wet in the literary world and maybe those even a little more seasoned.
As for topic matter... well, we are open to fiction, and of pretty much of any variety. The key here being that we tend to be looking for subject a little more quirky, a little more unusual and a little more obscure. At present we are not openly looking for submissions right now. Aaron Turbot and the Perilous Sofa
Suave… worldly… cool under pressure… a ladies' man; Aaron Turbot is none of these things. What he is, however, is a creature of benign mediocrity and moderate neuroses. But paramount, Aaron Turbot is utterly ill-prepared for anything that life is about to throw his way.
After a string of questionable luck and poor decisions, Aaron is finding life a more anxious condition than usual, and that may be gently understated. He discovers himself in unfamiliar territory when Thomas Hill, the ageing neighbour and solitary soul from down the hall, requests what on the surface appears an understandable, albeit inconvenient errand of goodwill. After completing this small “ish” favour Aaron, along with long-time childhood friend and reluctant assistant Chris, quickly find themselves embroiled in a situation that is markedly out of their collective skillsets. Sliding ever further down the rabbit hole into madness, their afternoon’s undertaking warps into an adventure that neither could have scarcely imagined. “Aaron Turbot and the Perilous Sofa” is a study in lies, lunacy, laundry and larceny… and very possibly, even murder.

Need some more adventure in your life… or, maybe you just enjoy watching (or reading) other people in awkward situations panic? Either way we don’t judge. Aaron and the gang are coming back to scratch that itch, but in the meantime, here’s a little sneak preview of things to come.
What do severed finger, old world lycanthropy and time travel have in common? Yeah… Aaron Turbot has no idea either, that’s why this time the guys are going to need a little help. Ignoring pangs of better judgment and self-preservation, along with a modicum of alcohol and pinch of bravado our duo manage to persuade each other that they may actually be up to the task. After waning hubris, the resurgence of an old “friend” may be just the push needed for the case of a rogue phalanges to unravel in their favour. The now, trio finds themselves directly in the path of oncoming mayhem, mishaps and maleficence. Join Aaron and friends on their next adventure in, “Aaron Turbot and the Time-Travelling Finger”.
